13 days Everest Base Camp Trek From the Southern (Nepal) side starts at Lukla, taking 35 minutes short flight from Kathmandu. While flying to Lukla the flight offers a mountain flight experience as this half an hour can be fully enjoyed breathtaking scenes of mountain ranges to the far horizon to very close encounters. The seats to the left rows on the aircraft privilege the better views of majestic mountains.

Most of the trekkers stop at Phaking (2,600 m) in the tea house as a first overnight of the EBC trek. The trail passes along the pine trees and the sounds of Dudhkoshi River makes the trek complete peace. The trail up to Hillary Bridge is gradually flat. After the Hillary Bridge the trail steeply heads up to Namche Bazar (3,450 m) for 2/3 hours. If the weather permits the first view of Mt. Everest can be seen from the halfway to Namche bazaar. Namche is the capital city of Sherpa ethnic people. Sherpa are well renowned for their adaptation in low level of oxygen and adventure mountaineering. The early morning hike to Everest view hotel, hotel at the highest altitude of 3,900 m offers the wonderful view of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse , spectacular Mt. Amadablam, Tobuche peak, Mt Thamserku. And the exploration continues to Khumjung village, the Hillary school, at Everest region. The Khumjung monastery where the skull of Yeti (mountain man) is showcased so it's worthy to visit. The hiking continues to Khunde village and Khunde hospital run by Hillary foundation. After the day excursion turn back to Namche for overnight.

The trek continues to Tengboche a Buddhist monastery built in 14th century. And next day the camp is either Pheriche or Dingboche. The two settlements are close to each other. The ridge boarders the settlements. Those who feel well can go to Dingboche and if somebody is not feeling well then go to Pheriche. In Pheriche there is a clinic run by Himalayan Rescue Association, the hospital always holds the volunteers doctors from across the globe. It rescues thousands altitude sickenss patients. The next day is rest day. It is useful to climb some hundred meters above from where you stay. So that your body will get adjusted with Acclimatization until you arrive to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar.

From Dingboche and Tenngboche Everest Base Camp is 2 more days further up. It requires 900 m further ascending for Everest Base camp and around 1,100 m for Kalapattar.Following the normal itinerary Lobuche 4900 m is camp before Everest Base camp. Normally it is suggested to do Everest Base camp in the afternoon from Gorakshep reserving your room and leaving your stuff at room. In spring season the Everest base camp is fully covered by colorful tents set up by Everest and Lhotse Expedition group.And the Next day early morning ascending 2 hours to Kalapattar is a hard part yet it will be paid off when you are in Kalapattar to enjoy the best view of Mt. Everest and other mountain ranges. You'll find yourself surrounded by the majestic mountains and the feeling which comes from the bottom of your heart is the lifelong memory achieved after very hard walking to Everest Trek.

Well planned itinerary good guide and staffs and some physical preparation before your trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC Trek) will bring you to your ultimate goal to observe the world's Giant(Mt. Everest) right in front of you. Not only to see the Mt. Everest but also experience the mountain beauty and hard life lived by locals will inspire you to go ahead in your goals with no rest.
